SightLife Academy develops leaders and managers to establish and grow sustainable community eye banks throughout world. SightLife Academy is dedicated to developing those professional leaders through rich and ongoing learning experiences.
There are four components of SightLife Academy:
Online technical, professional, and personal development courses developed by a variety of organizations and universities, including Harvard University
Conferences & Seminars
Offered several times a year to Board members, Medical Directors and Managers to build skills and community
Counselor, technician, and management training at SightLife's Centre of Excellence in Hyderabad, India
Intensive three-week eye bank management training offered at SightLife's Seattle, Washington (US) location
About the Academy
- SightLife Academy launched in January 2011 with online courses that range from Presentation Skills to Managing by Metrics. To date, staff at partnering eye banks have enrolled in over 900 courses to develop both hard and soft skills.
- Previous fellows have studied pre-cut tissue in Asia, plans to enter into a new donor hospital in India, feasibility of opening an eye bank in Malaysia, a process to improve the quality of eye banking in Hong Kong, and much more.
- Applications for the SightLife Academy Fellowship will be available beginning late fall.
