A Year of Possibility

A Year of Possibility

Happy 2022 from SightLife!

As we embark on a new year, we are filled with optimism for the possibilities that lie ahead. The possibilities that vision brings to those living in darkness. The possibility of finding hope and healing amidst loss. The possibility of reaching more people before their condition leads to corneal blindness.

Even through our most challenging years in history, these possibilities never ceased. We can attribute this resiliency and adaptation to people like you who helped ensure our critical work to eliminate corneal blindness continues today. And for that, we want to express our sincere gratitude for those who continue to step up to support our mission.

Because of you, families like the Duffys who lost their spirited 11-year-old daughter, Ella, have found purpose in their pain. As Ella’s mother Emily said, “Her life is continuing to help people. It wasn’t for nothing.” We often talk about the possibilities that come with the gift of sight, but for our donor families, the possibility that their loved one’s legacy lives on can be the greatest gift of all. YOU help make these possibilities a reality.

We would be remiss not to acknowledge the continued disruption to our work as we face yet another surge in cases during this pandemic. But thanks to a better understanding of how the SARS-CoV-2 virus impacts corneal tissue and transplantation, and a number of adjustments SightLife has made to our business over the past two years, we are confident that SightLife will rise to the occasion to continue delivering hope and healing to countless individuals worldwide.

We have exciting developments on the horizon, including exploring new technologies to increase eye donation in the US and India, adapting our clinical training programs to expand our global impact, expanding our prevention work to reach children in Nepal, and so much more. Each day, we will continue delivering powerful connection opportunities for our donor families, providing a light in the darkness for donor families, and partnering with other global health leaders to move the needle in accessing eye care in low- and middle-income countries.

We hope 2022 brings you more possibilities to live fully and bring light and love to your family, friends, and community. Thank you for your unwavering support as we continue to unlock possibilities for men, women, and children worldwide.
